It's a shame, but it seems that we are still a long way away from any significant changes: http://dailypost.vu/news/more-work-...cle_6dd010bc-8339-5059-8fb2-d86874bcb168.html
"“The kava paper, however, is still a discussion to request Codex to develop a regional standard for kava, so we are in the infancy stage.
“The meeting this week accepted that we progressed and are at the first stage of taking a discussion paper to the Commission, the supreme body.
“We will be preparing a paper to be submitted to the Commission in 2017, if it is accepted then we can embark on work to develop a kava draft standard."

Right, but at least it is being worked on...

So what the heck is "noni juice"?

"Morinda citrifolia is a small, tropic fruit tree ... which has been used as a food and an herbal remedy for centuries in Polynesia and Southeast Asia. Recently, noni has been introduced into Western herbal medicine as a “tropic fruit with 101 medical uses”, ... Noni juice has been marketed in the United States since 1996 and was approved as a “novel food” by the European Commission in 2003. While considered safe, several case reports of adverse events attributed to use of noni have appeared, although often criticized because of lack of chemical analysis of the actual product to exclude misidentification and contamination. ...Several case reports have suggested that noni may account for some cases of idiosyncratic acute liver injury, although the association was weak in many cases."

So, a tropical fruit that has safely been consumed for centuries in Polynesia and Asia. Ripped off by Western companies, and marketed inappropriately. Vague case reports suggest a couple people who used it got liver disease, but causality was not proven.
THE SKY IS FALLING!
That sounds incredibly familiar.
