    Powdered Kava Review Tongan

Definitely spot on from my experience. I enjoy a Tongan with some body to it. I drank for a few days, but haven’t reached for it in a week or so. Grind is a little coarser than I remember most BKH offerings.

    Puariki: TKS vs. AoK?

Pretty sure N@H sources from TKS or rather their base supplier. Could cut down on shipping given they imported to the US already.

    Heady/uplifting kava

Great description above. but the Puraiki has less sedation for me. I can easily drink a shell of it first thing in the morning and go about my day. Palarasul for me is far more to the balanced side of the spectrum with really well rounded effects.

    Kava Euphoria

To a certain extent. It’s always going to have limiting returns. First shell hits hardest with the kavain, and from there additional effects build over time. You can keep it going with well spaced shells, but it’s not like every next one is like the first. I would say this applies To any...

    Sore eyes

Not sure if it applies to you, but mine is actually caused by dry/inflamed eyelids. I started washing with baby shampoo each day and it’s much better after a week or so.

Kava taken with other herbal supplements

I have taken devils claw occasionally over the years. Maybe noticed much maybe a little less joint pain. Didn’t “feel” anything good or bad. I always took it in the AM and kava in the evening. No interactions to report

I have not washed my Aluball in 3 years, it's fine!

Yea the only time I wash it with soap is if im Using it outside for an event which eventually leaves it sitting dirty for a few hours. At home I do the same thing. Just rinse well and place on drying rack upside down. This alu bottle has made it at least 5 years for me although the balls need...

    Puariki: TKS vs. AoK?

For me Art of Kavas is heavier in effects. I’d guess processing may have something to do with it. They are both strong balanced kavas that have been some of my favorite bags this year. I’ve drank around 600g of kava society’s and 400g of Aok so I guess I reach for KS more often.

    Bir Kar & Kelai

Heck yea I do this exact mix from FVK lately. Kelai isn’t jittery at all for me but I do have some sleep disturbances from using solely it unless I have it morning/early afternoon.

Using less water in your wash?

After my experimental phase I’ve done 100ml per 7ish grams of kava. Love that thick soupy drink that hits quick. I also do 2 shells a typical week night. A few more on weekends

I love the nut milk creamers in mine. Specifically the one with part coconut and part almond. During cooler weather their pumpkin spice is very nice with Tongan kava.

Talanoa Mada (from Fiji Vanua Kava)

Name aside it makes some great kava for anytime both by itself in the daytime, or blended with something heavier in the early evening.

Talanoa Mada (from Fiji Vanua Kava)

The confusing part with this one is it’s made with Vanuatuan kava. Specially the stump (Lawena) of an undisclosed number of various Vanuatuan cultivars. It seems since they are a Fijian company they chose the name this way.

Kava Side Effects I think I'm having an allergic reaction develop but I can't say for sure yet

Are you using hot water? For me different kavas certainly have more pronounced skin effects. Rotating helps for me as well as cutting my amount by half for 3-4 days a week. In general the cleaner processed they are the better too I think.

All in one vs spread out

On weeknights I chug allwithin 10 minutes. On weekends I tend to space sometimes even an hour + apart when I have more time.

What kava are you drinking tonight?

Went with a mix of Bir Kar from two vendors. N@H and Fiji vanau. They may be from the same source just different batches seem very clean and beautifully processed.

    Kava Tea Dosage (Yogi)

May have better luck trying other calming herbal teas without kava as well.

Newbie Here Excited To Try Kava

Kava can inhibit the removal of certain things cleared by your liver including caffeine. This is why for many spacing out works best, but for some it can amplify effects of caffeine when treated respectfully (moderately). For a sleep quality perspective that can definitely play a role if you...

Kava seems to make my neck spasm worse

A few herbal supplements that more closely feel like a weak benzo to me than kava does are Magnolia Bark extract, baicalin (skullcap), and mulungu bark. Maybe valerian root but it can also have an opposite reaction in a small portion of the population. Overall though there’s a reason Valium is...

Kava seems to make my neck spasm worse

What type of micronized? There’s a lot going on within the broad spectrums of kava. I know it’s marketed as just a relaxing plant but there’s a lot going on in that mud water. With many cultivars having different ratios of the active ingredients.
