I notice that when I leave kava on the counter for a week after squeezing it once it'll get this strong, odd smell that's hard to describe but almost chemical. Any idea what that is?

I notice that when I leave kava on the counter for a week after squeezing it once it'll get this strong, odd smell that's hard to describe but almost chemical. Any idea what that is?
It will ferment if left out of the fridge and spoil. It is best used within 24-48 hours once you get the first wash in or freeze the leftovers right away for a later date.
