Best intro, IMO if you are that interested, would be to read the book Practical Mysticism: A Short book for Normal People, by Evelyn Underhill, it came out in 1915.

It's public domain so here is a pdf. https://jesus.org.uk/sites/default/files/media/documents/books/others/practical-mysticism.pdf

Also worth checking out the 14th century writings of Julian of Norwich (who was a woman, btw, there is a strong feminine aspect to this type of mysticism, especially with the concept of "Christ Our Mother"), which of course predates anglicanism but is part of the well from which anglican mysticism springs. https://www.paracletepress.com/samples/exc-revelationsondivinelovei-20.pdf

Lol I read the introduction yesterday. I absolutely loved its passion for practicality, and I plan on reading it through. I'm one of those strange people whose love of learning hasn't been beaten out of them. Information is like food to me, if I'm not learning something I'm not truly living!

I want to believe, but have difficulty.
Faith is tricky, it's like a gift. It never works that one can believe simply because one wants to. People try, but it's like banging their head against the wall. Then for others it comes easy, yet some even throw it away, because it was so easily acquired and as a result so little appreciated.

That's what the line about "to those who have, much shall be given, but those who have little, even what little they have will be taken away," (Matthew 25:29 but also Luke 19:26) is about, faith.
