Hey there Kava lovers. Looks like most of the US is in for some pretty cold temps today and tomorrow. I'm weird, and I love the cold. Enjoy your weekend!

    Bula!

It's even going to get cooler, here, in southwest FL. Raising a taste-of-winter shell to my fellow Forum-ers.

Wow. By hand with NO strainer, now that's someone who's made kava a few times in their lives.

Very interesting to see it pounded by hand like this in Vanuatu. This is the method they use in FSM and Palau. Thanks for the vid.

It sure is different than scratching on coral stones. Don’t the people in FSM strain it through hibiscus bark, too?

Yeah the hibiscus bark seems to be the go-to method in FSM.

I’d love to try that method some time. People say the green bark sap really makes the grog thick. I bet you wouldn’t need to stir it up before scooping every shell.

Surely they would have made cloth kava strainer bags by now if there was no added value provided by the Hibiscus bark, so I assume it does provide a noticeable benefit.
