Kava Curious
Hello everybody!
I just wanted to talk about something that i find to be fairly unreported on this site and elsewhere, namely the use of Kava and antidepressants.
I have been using kava on a fairly regular basis (nightly, with some breaks ranging form 2-7 days), and I also take Zoloft 25mg daily in the morning.
Initially i was taking 50mg daily and dropped down to 25mg after starting kava. I believe that i felt some effects if i took them too close together, thus the 12~ hour difference in dosing.
I will say that most varieties ive tried have not had bad effects, but headier varieties tend to cause some intense anxiety over time. Heavier ones are quite alright despite some daytime tiredness.
I should caution that i am on the lowest possible dose of Zoloft and this is my own personal experience! Please exercise caution and as a rule never consume Kava and Zoloft at the same time due to how the liver processes both.
