New Paper on Hawaiian 'Awa

Gourmet Hawaiian Kava

Kava Expert
Kava Vendor
Hi everyone, here is a new paper that came out and there is a good section on Hawaiian 'Awa, it talks about a lot of things like the history and even talks about the efforts on including Hawaiian 'Awa in the Codex.

All the current Board of Directors of the Association for Hawaiian 'Awa-- Dr. Jeri Ooka, Ed Johnston, and Jonathan Baker -- worked on various parts and mostly exclusive to pages 16, 17, and 18.

From What Ed told me the publication is out of Switzerland so the "peer-review" was international, grueling, and is what took so long. This is a good read. Thanks to all Ed, AHA and all the others that helped in this paper.

Nice also is that it offers a short history of the "Kava/liver controversy" and offers some updated information to dispell the myths and suggests ways to move past!
References are educational also . Some folks may enjoy reading about the other Canoe Plants that the paper focuses on-- Hawaiian sugarcane, Kalo, and sweet potato.
All of which are great chasers when drinking 'awa!
