why not easy peasey blender with cold water?

Exactly. Glass is the way to go. I have found that hot enough water will eventually strip away most of the residue from plastic but that is extra work and wear on the plastic parts.

When I clouded the BlendTec I read online to put water and dishwasher detergent in it and let it sit. I let it sit overnight and it cleared right up. I dogged a bullet. Even though that worked I'm not using the BlendTec again for kava.
