Peter Buck of R.E.M. Loves Kava!

Peter Buck, guitarist for the band R.E.M. is a now a regular at Bula Kava House. He's been in at least two or three times per week for the last month or so. I know there's an old thread here of famous people drinking kava so I thought this might be of interest. I don't have a picture because I don't want to be "that guy", but it is pretty cool. He likes to order a couple shells, usually of our "strong batch" of the day which we make with 50% more root than our other offerings, and a fresh made juice.

I just thought this was cool. The other employees and some regulars have been excited about it.

That is very cool. I am a long time R.E.M. fan. I know he had a problem with benzos and alcohol awhile back which resulted in him being arrested on an airplane. (He allegedly assaulted a stewardess with yogurt, as I recall. He was acquitted) Maybe he is following the path of many of us here who have replaced alcohol/benzos with kava. I don't know. So I would say to him: "Don't go Back to Rockville; stay in Portland"

Peter Buck has done a lot of stuff besides R.E.M., actually. Currently (I think) he is playing with Robyn Hitchcock's Venus 3, which is nice because his guitar style was influenced a lot by Robyn:
