Any keto dieters notice kava kicks you out of ketosis?

On the keto diet, and it seems I don't lose weight when I step on the scale the day after I drink kava. Maybe it's just a coincidence? I have read on this forum that kava has little carbs, and even less than that if you count net carbs, given the fiber that is in it. Curious if anyone here...

Tried over 30 different kavas and they all feel the same. Anyone else have the same experience?

I have probably ordered and tried over 30 kavas. I honestly wish I could say I can tell the difference between heady kavas, body kavas, balanced kavas, energizing kavas, etc, but they all essentially feel the same to me. The exception would be Stone and Kava Supreme. I usually feel some more...

    Carbonated kava

Just purchased and received some carbonated kava from Cody at Aloha Kava. The carbonation makes it so much easier to drink, and the kava itself was smooth and had nice effects. Here is the link to his FB page: https://www.facebook.com/Alohakava/

Why are lecithin and coconut oil recommended vs plain vegetable oil for mixing with kava?

I have seen recommendations on this forum for soy lecithin, sunflower lecithin, and coconut oil in order to extract more kavalactones. Is there any reason not to just use canola/vegetable oil? Costs a lot less. Is it just because the aforementioned fats are overall more healthy, or that they...

How long should one stop drinking kava in order to get out of the "kava funk?"

I drank kava daily for the past two weeks, and for the past few days, I have been feeling sluggish with a down mood. Maybe it is something else I am doing that is unrelated, or maybe it is the build-up of the kava. Has anyone else noticed this happening to them? And if so, any recommendations...

Why not just take pills or tincture vs drinking nasty mud?

For those of you who don't like the taste of kava, and I would venture to say this applies to most of us, is there any less of an effect if one takes enough kava capsules or tincture? I realize that the directions on the bottles state to take a very minimum capsule or two, or a certain amt of...

More effective to prep two separate washes, or one wash with twice the amount of water?

Which do you think is more effective at extracting the most kavalactones for your buck: 1) Kneading 1/2 cup kava in 16 oz water for 5 minutes, then putting aside this portion of muddy water, then kneading the same kava in another 16 oz water for 5 minutes or 2) Kneading the same amount of kava...

Does rotating kava strains increase the effects you feel?

Maybe it's just me, but after I drink a certain strain of kava for more than one day in a row, I notice there are diminished effects. So now I have about 6 different kavas and rotate a different one each day, and I seem to feel the effects more. Has anyone found this to be the case with...

Foods or drinks that you use after drinking kava to make the bitterness go away

Only thing that works for me to get the bitterness to go away from kava is fresh pineapple. Thing is, after eating fresh pineapple, my tongue starts to hurt for a day. Tried fruit juice and peanut butter, but to no avail. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Type of kava you would recommend which doesn't weigh you down after multiple days of drinking it

I have noticed that after drinking kava for more than two days in a row, I start to feel more lethargic and just generally down after that. Is there a kava that any of you would recommend that one can generally drink every day, yet not have this effect? I avoid Kavafied Kava Supreme and...

Difference btw THC effects and kava?

I understand there are some strains of cannabis which mainly cause the user to feel relaxation. To those who might have tried edibles with this effect, how would you describe it compared to kava?

Method to make BKH's CO2 paste in your kitchen

Takes me more than half a tube to feel any of the effects from the CO2 paste, so it has been getting kind of expensive. That, and it is currently sold-out. I have a very high tolerance for kava and in order to feel any effects from traditional kava, I need to use a full cup, whether it is...

Why not just shake/knead twice as long instead of taking doing two washes?

I normally shake 4 Aluballs in my Alubottle for 2 minutes, then I pour the drink into a pitcher, then I add water to the top and shake again for two minutes. I do it this way because many of you do two washes in a row. But it occurred to me I could save myself the trouble of doing two washes...

Kava with the least amount of nausea

Kavas all across the board make me very nauseous. Naturally, the stronger tasting ones like Stone and Supreme make me the sickest. I take 2 ginger pills, 2 Tums first. I use 2 Aluballs in the Alubottle, then filter the kava twice, and still get nauseous. I realize nausea is the nature of the...

Why the discrepancy btw 1 minute recommended for shaking the Aluball vs 5-10 minutes for kneading?

Kava instructions usually recommend 5-10 minutes of kneading, but the Aluball and Alubottle instructions only recommend a minute of shaking. Is this because there is only so many kavalactones which can be extracted by the Aluballs which tops out at a minute, or is it that the extraction process...

Is micronized kava more likely to cause a hangover than medium grind?

It seems like micronized makes me have a bad hangover compared to medium grind, but I just wanted to check if this is the case with other kava drinkers. Thanks!

Since citric acid changes the effects of kava, looking for something else to change the taste

I have found that mixing Crystal Light with kava makes it so much more bearable. On the other hand, I have heard that the citric acid either weakens the kavalactones (from the forums) or causes the kavalactones to be more sedating, as Mike from Kalm with Kava emailed me when I had a question...

Tried over 25 kava's, looking for one that doesn't make me tired.

I have tried over 25 kava's(see below) and the only one that hasnt made me tired is Pouni Ono. Could it be just my particular body chemistry, or would you have any recommendations? Thanks in advance. -Wakacon Waka, Lawena Lami -KWK Vula Waka,Loa waka, Pouni Ono,Borogu, Borongoru, concentrate...
