I Love Kava Friday Here we stand on the summit of the week.

I just bought some GHK this week and it's coming on Monday. Was crossing my fingers it would be here today, but alas. A weekend without kava. I compensate my lack of kava with lots and lots of popcorn watching movies.

    Forum News New vendor organization.

The Tudei War of 2016 probably molded the current attitude on the forums... I think everyone, regardless of their stances, recognizes now that we need to relax and just appreciate each other. There were a couple guys I really disliked during that time period, but would have no problem calling...

Sounds like an interesting idea, but you better change @Gourmet Hawaiian Kava 's 4 years to something much higher! Chris has been in business for much longer!

    Election 2020

This outrageous national debt (~$27,000,000,000,000 at this moment) has me questioning the number of kilos we owe. Assuming a kilo is worth $125 retail, we owe 216,000,000,000 kilos of high quality powdered kava. If we take into account tanoas and bilos, we could lower that amount by preparing...

    Election 2020

I'm just here to toy with your emotions during this calm, peaceful time! What's Al's Kava? Did you have to go down to Atlanta to get your hands on Kava Mama's stuff?

    Election 2020

It's vital that we, as citizens, decide our futures through the election system. Foes may ramble, our couches may have permanent buttcheek imprints, but our minds will be stress-free after the pepper-dust settles. Although reports have been coming in about the latest polls being incorrect, I...

    "Love/Hate" Relationship with Kava

Yea I was just kidding around, I didn't think you insinuated that at all. I used to use lecithin myself, but then I just became super lazy. Can we discuss how you're able to actually swallow a raw clove of crushed garlic? That's WILD. I'm not sure I could force myself to do that!

Do you all drink kava on weeknights, weekend nights, or both?

I'm a 3-4 times a week kind of guy. I also tend to drink much more root when I have a session though, so it probably equals out over the week compared to the daily guys who only have a couple tablespoons!

    "Love/Hate" Relationship with Kava

Ah, yes. I'm a big fan of crushing up garlic and throwing that in my grog. For even better absorption, use milk instead of water. Milky, garlicky, earthy pepper water is just the ticket for a relaxing night! (just kidding, that sounds horrific) I'm a bit of a hard head, so I tend to use 2/3...

    Thoughts on KWK's Borogu?

FYI, they changed how they grind their borogu. I just got a bag a couple days ago and it's ground just as fine as their other kavas now. Huzzah!

    Kava Cultures

I went back in February and the one in Kona is far more of a touristy party atmosphere, while the one in Hilo was actually closed. I did go to Uncle Robert's, though, which was definitely a better experience and vibe.

Really love what you said here about the pacific island themed kava bars. I think it's a really difficult line to toe -- on one hand you want to celebrate their culture and the root they've shared with us; on the other hand you don't want to offend or make light of by misusing pacific icons or...

    Kava Cultures

I'll admit a couple years ago I used the term, albeit infrequently, but I don't really talk about it in that way anymore. I think it denigrates the experience of kava to describe it as if it was from alcohol. We should stop using that word. Sidenote: Hope you're well, @Alia . Always love to...

    Kava Cultures

I think @Kapmcrunk said it best where it all boils down to respect. I appreciate what the kava bar scene in the US has done to the industry by helping to grow it and create influence, but I also really dislike how most operate. I've been to many bars that have a chill atmosphere with people...

    The taste !!! UGGHHHH

Dried kava is still repulsive to me even after all these years of slamming it down my gullet. Fresh kava is a totally different animal, but unfortunately most of us don't have the luxury of drinking fresh 'awa! ;)
