    Kava available in Australia

aw gee. I know they were affiliated way back, is it the same kava? I had taki mai grind fairly regularly (a long, long time ago) and it was MUCH better than fijikava is now.

    Free Kava

Yea I'm sorry but I'm way too poor to mail to the US, it's hella expensive over the big blue. It's not worth your while to pay for the postage for subpar kava too, you'd be better off spending the postage on a smaller amount of better quality stuff there.

    Free Kava

This isn't FVK, it's FijiKava (brand available here on which the consensus is 'disappointing'). however for those who are more sensitive to kava (I need a good 8tbsp), it might be useful, it's just weak. figured i'd offer it here instead of composting it.

yea it sucks! Suspect just that batch, everything else I've had from KP has been good.

    Free Kava

hey there, I know some folks are sometimes hard up and have two kavas to give away that don't work for me: about 170g of FijiKava and about 120g of a weird batch of SavuSavu from KavaPros. I wouldn't recommend either of them for a beginner, as they're not a great intro to kava, the FK is weak...

    Withdrawals, can they happen?

In terms of physical withdrawals, barely. i have a headache for a day or two, that's it. and i'm as psychologically dependent on kava as it gets.

    Kava causing me HPPD... why?

well, it's normal for me, i assumed it was par for the course. I have a remarkably small window between feeling anything and overdoing it (within a gram sometimes), so I find myself in the place *just* before too much often. Too much and vision blurs completely; just before that is what you're...

Can a person be unaffected by Kava?

before legit kava was legal in Aus, I used to buy Fiji Kava pills. I'd empty 30-40 pills into a glass and mix direct with water for a very mild buzz. Don't recommend. But good kava is here now, buy some proper stuff. Karan's kava is a great, cheap kava you could try. 4-8tbsp, start small, see...

i gave mine away, not even worth having as a backup. poor stuff, and I was having 8tbsp.

A couple of quick kava questions (Australia)

Every one of these questions will depend on your individual constitution and is discovered by experimenting. Personally: Re.1, as you've discovered, spacing shells works best for most to lengthen the session and minimize nausea. If you're one of the most, lucky you. there are some like me who...

Differences of traditional grind and instant (effect wise)

I'm of a similar opinion to Edward, I get good predictable effects (at least from my chosen go-to instant, Green from KS/R&P) with less of the downsides and zero dermo. 16g is my starter dose, chugged; I'm trying to stick to that starter dose as I'm a daily drinker and it gets pricey of course...

What do you use to chase your Kava?

Pineapple is the best. i have a bag of pineapple in the freezer and a single piece does the job.

Feeling Very Bad from Certain Kavas

agreed, try skipping the blender and use a 75 micron bag. blender method/inadequate straining always makes me feel awful.

    Instant kava

I'm so pleased for you @Osadandaula UK. Hooray for @Root & Pestle! I'm on a new pound of it and my stupid body isn't responding, guess it's a different lot than the last (it's me, not them, I take ages before my body will respond to slight variations in my kava. annoying and expensive). smashing...

    Dealing with kava dermo?

mine has totally cleared up since I switched to instant, which suggests to me I was getting too much root despite double straining. New strainer bag could help you too.

    Instant kava

highly recommend root and pestle/KS green, it's by far the best instant I've tried. as Osadandaula says above, instant does tend to be more one-dimensional, but there's a multitude of reasons it might suit you better. Price wise it evens out for me, as I use 2tbsp whereas I'd usually use 8 of...
