Kava Curious
Mayhaps not the right part of the forums, sorry if that's the case!
This is really just a small rant to people that will feel my pain (Very summarised, don't worry)
Queue recurring reflux, cooooonstant pain just below left ribcage, bloating, nausea getting to the point of vomiting semi-regularly; some food exacerbates it, so does Kava and alcohol.
Eventually after insisting "Doctor these PPIs aren't the fix, these symptoms are different to reflux I promise!" get some tests done.
Big ol' Hiatus hernia, not the end of the world, kinda just annoying. Surgery is the only fix there is but naturally lifestyle changes can keep it in check and unless there's strangulation it's essentially "Yeah good luck ever getting in the queue for surgery for something relatively elective"
It's actually been some months now and I manage it very well by changing eating habits and cutting a few things out etc (Weight loss is off the table as i've always been on the smaller side but still gave it a go to see the impact), but whenever I've tried going back to kava in various strengths and forms (From a previous daily drinker) it just gives me nausea that outweighs the benefits.
Thanks for reading! As you can imagine the kind of sympathy I get is really just "Hey at least your symptoms have gone!". Yes, but I want my good time damn it!
Plus my regular Kava bro misses me chugging with him, I just have to sit around with a glass of water or something and just act the part.
We'll see if anything changes in the future; outside of people who have had it bad enough to pay for surgery most in a similar situation i've talked to have said "Yeah you just gotta live with it".
Have an extra shell for me tonight!
