¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Pros:
1. Convenient, and easier to make kava on the go.
2. Allows good control of dosage, and seems to stretch your stash longer.
3. Makes reasonably good effective kava

Cons
1. The kava is not as well textured (imo). Seems thinner while also a bit grittier
2. Traditional prep may possibly allow better exclusion of undesirable fibers, lessening stomach issues
3. Not able to make full flavored large batches (such as, for a group or extended sessions) unless you make more smaller batches, requiring multiple cleanings of filter to arrive at desired qty

Aluball is what I use while out and about (or even at work). Traditional kneading is what I use when I'm home with no restrictions on logistics, so to speak (ie, full access to all my kitchen amenities that I do not have while out and about)

Kava Curious
Pros: real quick, it works, tastes fine, easy to travel with, easy to use, supporting a great company to buy from

Cons: you lose the tranquil tradition of mixing, not as strong without two or three balls, bags can be cheaper, balls will need to be replaced eventually
