Any Canadians been to Vanuatu?

Did some quick googling. The prices to Hawaii are pretty bad. I'm just wondering what a trip to a place like Vanuatu would cost a Canadian. This would be inclusive of hotel, meals etc...I would really love to go one day.

I think Air New Zealand fly's down from LA en route to Auckland. Also options from Qantas and Air Vanuatu. There is a whole variety of accommodation options and things you can do to suit any budget. 1 large shell of kava in Vila is around US$1 and a beer costs 3-5$ in a Vila bar. Any ideas on what you would like to do there?

Meant to say if you can get to an Australian or NEw Zealand (auckland) airport, flights from there are pretty cheap. (300-600 rtrn?). there may be an option from LAX which would be ok priced.

Dang thats far, lol. I dont have the resources to seriously consider this at the moment, but one day I would love to. I just read a book about kava in the area and I'd love to go on a kave centred vacation there. Seems I would need about 5 grand to really do it proper though.

You can get a ticket from US west coast for about $1500, not sure what the cost would be from different parts of Canada. A clean room with a private hot water bathroom will cost you at least $30/night. Food is cheap if you eat like a local, very expensive if you want western style meals. A lot of guest houses have kitchens you can use if you want to buy food and cook for yourself. Inter-island flights are fairly expensive. If you go, spend some time on Efate which is where you'll fly into and pick one more island if you're on a budget. Kava is dirt cheap, about $1 for about a 6 oz. serving, and you won't need many of those. Follow the locals for the strongest kava at one of the hundreds of nakamals and prepare to be blown away.
