Mmmm Kava
I typically use straight tap water for my cold water extractions but decided to turn on the Brita today for my brew. I was shocked at how much better it tasted. I didn't realize how bad the chlorine taste was messing with my final product but I will be using the filter from here on out.

I think it depends on where you live. When I was living in Iowa, the tap water there was terrible due to the hardness and to all the chlorine they add to it to neutralize the farm runoff. Most people had water softeners and drank filtered or bottled water there. Here in Colorado, the tap water is actually not bad; it's hard to tell the difference from filtered.

Yes, definitely. I was a bit of a coffee connoisseur so I figured it would be the same for anything, but figured since I'd heated the water it wouldn't matter.

Having tried it both ways as well, I found a fairly strong difference in taste.

I can definitely taste a difference in the water used... gotten in a habit of filling my jug up from the cooler at work every day to use for my grog when I get home.
