Hey, Draik,I see you already found the candy website; when you said KP I'm just assuming you meant Paradise (correct me if that's not what you meant; I'm pretty slow on the uptake today)—I have purchased candies from them for convenience's sake, but if you're planning on buying in larger quantities you can cut the cost by ordering directly from Steve's website. Does kava do a better job for me than chemical anxiolytics..... yes. Taking into consideration legality, health, and social condemnation, kava is definitely a better choice to maintain a life without worrying about getting a fix, overdosing, or being arrested. Speaking solely of effects, though, it absolutely can't hold a candle to benzos or opiates, at least not for me. However, if social anxiety is your primary affliction, the responsible use of K@ in combination with kava will help you tremendously; if you suffer from chronic pain or injury, it's a godsend. If you're recovering from opiate addiction or trying to stave off withdrawals, it's a godsend. If you're just looking for a little recreational relaxation time, it's a godsend. It is addictive and can take its toll, but the purposes for which I use it wreak more mental and emotional havoc than does a possible addiction to a weak, sort-of kind-of opiod-ish plant. There are a lot of herbal anxiolytics, as well as stimulants that don't induce as much anxiety as caffeine. If you're using chemical anxiolytics, I would recommend moving in the direction of herbalism. It's saved my life, or at least my sanity. If you're not and you just asked me that out of curiosity, then I apologize for the rant and forget I said anything. (smiley: ohwell)
EDIT: In my experience, there is no comparison between the candy and GAIA products. Steve really outdid himself on this one; it's discreet, effective, portable and affordable. Perhaps it's just me, but I never got any effects from the GAIA capsules. They did, however, get me through my reverse tolerance period quite well.
