Bir Kar

P.S.L. Kava

Pacific Santo
Kava Vendor
This rare Noble cultivar is specific to the island of Espiritu Santo, from the Center and South of the Island and also named Urukara.
Rares kava are usually drunk locally by the farmers and their communities for traditional ceremonies.

This variety is rare even in Vanuatu as coming from Espiritu Santo Island only. That's always a delightful evening when Bir Kar is on the Menu!

Bir Kar locally means "red kava" and this come from its stem colors brown-purple. This kava is simple to recognize within the gardens from its appearance.

Effect: Sudden, strong and short.

Appearance: Large Brown-Purple stems with "short length" inter-node, Dark Green leafs.

Bir Kar brews a thicker kava with a nice floral taste. Bir Kar is very similar to a medicinal chemotype. Produces effects of muscle relaxation with little sedation or headiness.

My go to is to start a session with Palasa or Palarasul and add in the Bir Kar after a shell or two.

The Bir Kar adds a nice chilling body effect that really kicks the session to the next gear.
