Boiled my kava

So last night I boiled my kava before kneading it and then let it sit in the fridge overnight. I woke up this morning and noticed there was absolutely no sediment on the bottom of the glass and the top 1/4inch was all oil. I would assume there was no sediment due to the fact that boiled kava turns into a gum-like substance, making it much harder for pieces of the root to pass through my kava bag. Has anyone else had this same experience? Wondering if boiling it is a viable way to reduce next day nausea by reducing the amount of sediment you ingest.

I don't know.
Would you let us know :)

Get some ginger handy, and take one for the team !

I guess the other question is does the high boiling temperature destroy the kavalectones ?
Would you let us know, on that, as well ?
I mean, since you already went through the whole process of prepping and boiling it.

I’ll report back tomorrow. Would love to find a way to stop this infernal nausea from happening. It’s not terrible but it’s still this low, dull nauseas feeling that persists the day after for most the day. I’m not anywhere near throwing up, but nonetheless I feel it shouldn’t be happening as it’s akin to a hangover. The mellowness I feel the next day does make it better though.

I think the nausea I was getting was from using tudei kava for 4-5 days and once it built up in my system it left me feeling nauseated for several days. I was ignorant to tudei when I bought it. Since then I never get lingering nausea and no longer boil my kava. I’m also using my original strainer bag that I thought was letting too much sediment through. I’ve even tossed and washed some medium grind with no noticeable nausea!

Moral of the story for new people such as myself, make sure you do adequate research on kava and understand the difference between tudei and noble before buying any! If you drink tudei for several days, you’re going to end up having a really bad time!
