Is there death before life?
I have begun to really love Boroguru!
Stuff is awsome.
But I dont think its the same as Borogu.
I get a much more heady "Up" effect from the Borogu
The Boroguru is a much more down "couch lock".
Maybe Judd can help us out on that?

I've felt the difference between them too...and prefer Boroguru for it's more full bodied effect. Being that they are technically the same plant, my guess is that the difference comes from the ratio of stump to lateral root used. Boroguru is likely a 'waka' version of Borogu. Either that or the soil that Boroguru-Borogu is planted in drastically increases the heavier kavalactone content.
@endwatcher @shakas Not the same plant at all, different chemotype and everything. Both are "Waka" like, as in 100% lateral root. The effects are quite a bit different to me. As stated, the Borogu is much headier, whereas the Boroguru seems to have more muscle relaxing properties. Both are pretty awesome if you ask me

Ya, offering that would only drive up the price, which I don't want to do. I understand individual preference, but making a good batch of kava should be totally doable for a range of grind sizes. I know for sure that finer grinds make a stronger brew, but coarser grinds are easier to squeeze and strain.

I find that drinking Borogu during the day will give me a nice chatty clarity;
Then switch to Boroguru at night for that couch lock sedation

Not tryin' to be a contrarian, just basing this off of Dr. Lebot's book. He says on Pentecost Island "Borogu is called Borogoru in the north of the island and Gorogoro in the south." He breaks down similar plants even further, saying there is one called Borogu Temit(light) which is identical looking to Borogu but with lighter stems and an effect closer to Borogoru. In the north it's called Borogoru Maita and in the south it's called Gorogoro Entepal. Another is called Borogu Tememe(red) which has the appearance of Borogu but with red/violet stems. This one has a stronger psychoactive effect than Borogoru Temit. (sounds awesome) It's referred to as Borogoru Memea in the north and Gorogoro Entemet in the south.

But, who's to say what happens to the names over time as these plants travel to different islands and villages. I have no 1st hand experience with any of it, just reading.
