Boruguru vs Borugu

Kava Curious
Well just received my shipment of Boroguru today, so I'll have a chance to compare the 2 on my own now. I like the Borogu its a very mellow product, so far though it seems that I need 5-6 tablespoons to feel any effects. Wondering if the Boroguru will be similar, I'll probably start off with 3-4 tablespoons and start from there. Will report back later.

well for one boroguru has a much stronger effect (for me at least) i think that boroguru is the strongest kava i have tried besides stone. (well boroguru hits me hard and fast but stone creeps up and annihilates me and lasts much longer in peak effects)

i actually just finished off the rest of my 1/2 lb of borogu and i have to say this is a very exceptional kava. its still no stone(the taste is much more mild than stone though). but i am pretty danm krunk right now. the effects feel pretty rounded. i may order this again in the future.

but yeah i have yet to try a kava as muscle melting as borogugu. the taste is kinda rough buts the effects really really outway the taste, a solid kava for sure.

Boroguru vs Borogu
Out of sheer chance...or ignorance on my part I was afforded
the opportunity to try both types side by side. I purchased by accident 1 kilo
of borogu along with my normal 1 kilo of boroguru, and I can definitely say it
was a pleasant surprise. I am a strong proponent of high DHK kavas and if
you're judging on the Stone scale, (which stone being a 10 for effects) this
kava is a 9.5. In all honesty at first I had no idea I had even opened a
different strain. I guess once you get into the habit of drinking it daily you
expect a certain range of effects and don’t give much thought of it varying between
bags. Once I realized what was going on I took a closer look at taste and
effects. Keep in mind this is with the new grind of both types.
Prep Method (Same for Both):NoneNone
55 grams of root

3 Paint strainers

1 ¾ cups of water

water heated to 120 degrees

soak for 30 minutes

knead for 20 minutes

chill for about 2 hours in refrigerator.
Taste:NoneNone
Boroguru - Milder, smooth taste. Slightly nutty and lacks
the potent somewhat rubber smell I get from the highest strength kavas. Don't
let that discourage you, because honestly it's great to partake in a kava that
doesn't cause you to tense up at the sheer thought of drinking it. It has
almost a sweet, rich smell to it. I really do enjoy the smell of this kava, for
sure.
Borogu - If you're familiar with the characteristic stone
flavor...as in....bitter, this one hits the mark. I can detect the rubbery taste
I'm always noticing with stone. I hate to always reference another competitor's
product, but I think most of us can agree stone is one of the most consumed and
respected kavas for strength out there. Tastes a little less potent, but it's
still definitely a kava that makes you shudder when you've finished your shell.
Effects:NoneNone
Boroguru – I find boroguru quite balanced in terms of
effects. Being the variety that it is you’re going to notice a slightly heavier
body feel to this kava than say a Hawaiian strain. It packs a punch, but a
noble punch. You’re not going to have a problem making it from the couch to the
bed on boroguru. Great daily drinking kava that’s tilted towards body effects
with plenty of mental effects to accompany it.
Borogu – Heavy hitter. Very powerful.  One of those kavas that makes it difficult to
move.  Comes on slowly, which is the only
real difference between this kava and Nakamal @ Home’s Stone Kava. After that…find a surface that’s comfortable
because you’re likely to be lying down even if you didn’t plan to. This kava is
one of the most sedative kavas I’ve had the pleasure of drinking. It’s about 20
minutes or so and it’s “lights out”. I would classify this as a “night cap”
kava.

So, as you can see these are two totally different kavas,
even if at first I didn’t notice a difference because I thought I was drinking
the same type. I did notice one marked difference in that I was sleeping much
more soundly with this batch, but I just dismissed it as a difference between
two bags of the same kava. If you haven’t tried it and you’re a fan of heavy
kavas with high DHK/DHM you’ll find this one to your liking. Now that the grind
size has been fine-tuned I can say with pretty decent certainty that Bula Kava
House will be where I purchase all of my daily drinking kavas. Powdered from
Bula, and Extracts from Paradise.

Kava Curious
After about two months of drinking boroguru exclusively, I decided to grab a bag of borogu since they are in the same price range.

They are radically different.

Borogu:

Pleasant, motivated feeling in the brain. Minimal muscle relaxation. No nausea at all. I felt happy, and like I wanted to do things. Did not really change my thought patterns too much. Tasted lighter, took more volume to "get there."

Boroguru:

Slightly deadening feeling in the brain, or at least different associations. Muscle relaxation. Takes off the compulsive need to be "doing" something. Good kava for reading, if you happen to suffer from the ability to never relax. Or watching cable, if that's your bag. Mild stomach changes. Wouldn't drink this one in public, though I did once. Got really crunked with my Ma when she came to visit and wanted to visit a nearby* mall. She accepts my anti-consumerism gobbley gook, and smiled on as I chugged kava from a recycled 2 litre and became fascinated by the parade of colours and strangely dressed people. My all time favorite.
