Building up Kava glands/ Reverse Tolerance?

I started using http://www.loveleafgarden.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=23_40&products_id=337  &    http://www.ktbotanicals.com/anxiet-ease%C2%99-anxiety-support-formula-p-11187.html which uses Vanuatu Kava Root.  Looking for benzo alternative and am hoping I can add kava to the herbal pharmacy chest.

My question is it true that some people can experience reverse tolerance to Kava?

Is there any instant kava {powder, paste or capsules} that uses Fijan kava which I am told is the most potent in the world?   {Isa/Tudei specialty kava is supposedly all hype as I have read}

I am not looking for a recreational high but somehting to offset anxiety that is not a benzo.

Yes, you can definitely experience reverse tolerance. I have been drinking Kava for a couple years and definitely feel it more now than I have ever have.



"Potency" is hard to define with Kava. I consider a good Kava to both reduce anxiety as well as raise euphoria. Solomon Kava from Nakamal at Home would fit such a description. For a pure anti-anxiety Kava, I would go with Vanuatu Kava Store's "Malekula Magic." That also brings on euphoria, but not in the sense of being "high."

it is true that there is a reverse tolerance to kava, Though this may not be true for every individual.



I don't know about an instant Kava form Fiji but there are instant Kavas, Nakamal at homes Fire Island and Shaman, Vanuatu Kava stores Quick Kava, and I am sure you can find others as well online.



I have a lot of experience with anxiety and benzos. I was taking 1mg Klonopin a day, and 2mg of Xanax as needed which ended up being about twice a week. I have Weened down to 2.5 mg of Vallium (1mg of klonopin is about equal to 20mg of vallium) no xanax or klonopin now.



IT IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT to ween off of bezos, suddenly stopping them can lead to seizures and other problems. your Dr. can help you with this, Also mixing kava and benzos is not a good idea.



Kava can be a great help with anxiety, but its never going to be on the same playing field as a benzo.



Also In my experience, I though going for the "Strongest" Kava out there would be the best way to go, however I found them to be more mind altering and less relaxing/calming (for me) I would Highly Suggest Malekula Magic from Vanuatu Kava store for Anxiety.



Make sure you talk with your Dr. and see what he/she thinks about it. '

P.S. -- I just looked at the two links you had in your post, I am curious to know how the 85% gelcap's have worked (or not worked) for you, I have never heard much good about gelcap's/pills of kava kava. another thing to note is you need to make sure any extracts they use in the pills they ONLY use the root. as other parts of the plant can be toxic to the liver.

IF you google it you will see many positive reviews and then there always seems to be a population that have claimed to try kava every way imgainable from well respected suppliers and still only experienced negative effects or no effect at all.



I was especially trying to use kava for social anxiety situations and just have begun my experimentation. I do believe that this is the root but I should verify with the supplier.



I am hearing more & more arguements (even confirmed it here) that there is a reverse tolerance after continued use for about a week.



As far as the effectiveness so far after taking three gel caps I have been able to experience a subtle but noticeable effect in the kava slowing down my racing thoughts.



In the past I used Ultam (tramadal) for social settings but I woudl rather go with something more natural such as the kava.



The biggest arguement I have seen is that so many people will buy the 30 or so gel caps, have almost no effects, and then swear off the kava as bunk. I have read countless claims that its the individual that almost "primes" himself and continues to buy quality kava is rewarded with a great experience and a lasting relationship with this plant.



Sorry to ramble but I love the forum and am hoping to find better quality, trusted vendors & more info on this herb.

I have tried the Kona Kava Farms 84% paste, mixing the paste and the Instant Shaman Kava from N@H was the most relaxing experience I have had so far but.. I had to use A LOT of the paste, and at ~ $30.00 a Half Oz, it was gone very fast maybe 4 uses.. Pretty pricey for me. they say to use 2 pea sized lumps, but that didn't have any effect on me. It should be noted though that I had not "payed my dues to the kava gods" when I had tried this, it may be worth another shot.

If you buy the paste I would recommend liquefying it and drinking (I did this by swishing the paste in my mouth till it was a liquid) let us know how your experiences go with Kava!

First post here, but have been reading up on kavasseur.blogspot for a while.  I also tried that 84% paste from Kona Kava Farm, but I never felt much from it.  Maybe I never used enough?  Well tonight I tried Nakamal's Fijian and I def. felt it.  Thinking about making a second batch.  I'm pretty amped, because the kavasseur claims that this isn't even one of the more euphoric brands out there and I certainly had a bit of a good buzz going, and now that the buzz has passed I'm just totally mellow.

Yeah, N@H Fiji isn't a stronger variety, but it is still really good. Solomon would be a good next step.

If you can make the switch to kava it will be great. I was lucky to avoid the whole benzo mess to begin with. I've been using kava for 9 months and I don't regret giving it a shot.

Solomon is too strong, so if you want "the strongest," that's it. I advise having a Fleshlight handy, because Solomon is a potent aphrodisiac. Also, you might want to lock up the fridge, because anything you eat when krunk on Solomon will be the best food ever.
