Can Kava Rash/Allergy be reversed?

Hello everyone.
This is my first post here, I hope I'm writing in the right place. I was introduced to Kava a few years ago and despite the awful taste, I had a good experience with it. It helped my anxiety and social phobia and didn't make me an idiot like alcohol. I thought I had found the solution to my problem.
Then something happened and from then on, whenever I drank kava, I got very axious and itchy all over and then red spots appeared on my face that didn't go away for days even after I stopped kava.
I have tried several types of kava since then. Almost everything available in Europe. All Noble. Yet it was always the same. So I gave up kava.
Unfortunately, this led to my alcohol and drug problems returning. I have been clean for a while now, but I am constantly anxious and unable to talk to people, socialise. It's sad because I don't want to live like this. I go to therapy and use an ssri but it doesn't help much.
My question is this. Is this kava allergy? If so, is it reversible?
Let's say I consume only micro doses of kava for a while which doesn't trigger symptoms yet and slowly increase the dose. Is this a solution or is this not how it works? Has anyone here overcome a similar problem?
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance for any advice and replies.

It seems a small group of people including yourself seem to be extra sensitive to kava, for some it may be a deal breaker for others it could be a matter of finding the right kava and or the prep method.

For best results, always drink medium grind kava. Never toss and wash and avoid micronized kava. Be sure to use a proper strainer of 50-75 microns, 75 is the standard, 50 might be better if you are still getting undesirable effects using a 75 micron strainer. if all of the above fail, try instant green kava or alternatively, try some ozia kava candy or use them to supplement everything else.

Also available on Amazon, I don't trust any other non powdered kava product as much as I do these candies, they are the exception. I wish Steve would stop calling it kava kava but w/e lol.
