I am new to kava and was wondering if anyone could tell me how kava affects Serotonin. I have Narcolepsy with Cataplexy (cataplexy is when there is an interruption of serotonin which results in a loss of muscle tone. I lovingly call it ‘brain jiggles’). I take a SSRI to help regulate serotonin but I am wondering if I will need to adjust meds depending on how much kava is in my life. Thoughts? Obviously, I will talk to my doc about it but I am hoping someone here can direct me to some research/resources so I can make a more informed decision.
