I have this scale and it is excellent for weighing out small quantities. One might find it useful for measuring out bulk supplements instead of paying for them to come capped, or measuring the minute amounts of ingredients used when formulating lotions, ointments, etc.

You're absolutely right, @violet . It just didn't work for me when trying to measure something like 20 grams of kava. Could only do 5 grams at a time ...

@Rookietwoshoes if you still have the scale, you can tare it with a lightweight cup (paper, styrofoam, etc) and weigh kava out in that . I've used it like that for measuring kava, and for checking the accuracy of the larger kitchen scale I have.

If you really want a great small scale then I can back this Frankford Arsenal DS750 any day. I use it for very accurate gun powder & projectile weights.

Good from 0.006 grams up to 50 grams. Will measure in grams/grains or ct's. Comes with a little measurer tray & a calibration weight. It will tare off the measuring tray so it's weight won't be counted . About $40 on Amazon.

Important to be accurate with 50 000 PSI against your face.
