Anyone else do this? For example, my parents will be getting me some instant from bula kava house, one of my lady friends will be getting me some kava root most likely and I will be getting my best bud some stone (probably, unless I decide on a different strain.) along with a shell I will be making for him :) this is what I love about kava, it's like a bond that brings people together, I love getting it for people and sharing the joy as well as receiving it and relaxing with loved ones :) peace on earth and bula!!

Well...in my family you're put into a family gift exchange program when you turn 18. You're not asked...it just happens. You pretty much have to unless A) they can't find you B) you can't borrow money or C) you refuse to be not-asked to take part and be silently shunned.

I was really bothered by it at first. Now, I either ask for kava or parts for my XD-45, ha! *shrugs* If you're going to make me and then give me a blank list of 3 things I can ask for with no guide lines other than a staying near $25...

I think it would be great for my mom. She would never make traditional kava grog though. I may send her a few packs of kava candy or extract. It would be tough though as she's real old school and may think it sketchy due to some old school logic, basically an aging Irish American woman that's been going to Catholic church for like 50 years whose afraid of escalators and watches fox news. That's what I love about the kava candies and paradise extracts, they look totally wholesome and presentable. It would be best for her to start taking it and loving it without knowing anything about it as it may lead her to false conclusions before giving it a chance. I'll just tell her it's like chamomile tea, just much more effective.

I'll be buying and receiving traditional gifts. I know some of my family who kava would probably work excellently for, byt since they're also very heavy alcohol users I don't see it being very productive as I almost know for sure they wouldn't make the switch and, even if they did, probably wouldn't stop drinking alcohol leading to a potentially unhealthy combination.

My girlfriend however will likely buy me kava, since she knows how much I love it.

My wife asked me what I wanted, I told her kava and yerba apparel. The rest of the family doesn't even know I do this. My mother is very into herbal supplements, but like to contribute potential pitfalls to any situation, so I can see her finding the worst article out there and bringing it back to me.

This. My mother calls it "herbal mumbo jumbo". Oh mother. She does love her wine.

I did give kava to one of my relatives, in the form of an Ozia gift-box. Since she had kindey problems, cancer in fact, I thought it would be best to help her start kava gradually in a way that wouldn't be overly bitter.

I did request some of the nine-year-old Isa that Paradise had, but because of the Cyber Monday deal, I wound up buying it myself.

Last year, or maybe the year before, I wound up giving away a gallon of prepared grog to a co-worker. A two-liter bottle of Tongan Pride and another of Hawaiian grown Isa.

I love telling people who are in need of help about kava. It makes the Christmas experience better when you give someone something that will actually help them and bring a smile to there face (after thy gag a little, of course).

Just sent my gifts to the family on the mainland.  At Costco they have these Hawaiian Sun bags with all sorts of goodies including Mac nuts, powder for drinks, jam, etc.  My sisters fiend for the candy so I threw in half a case each.  I hope my nieces and nephews don't get into it or else it will be a super mellow Christmas.

I wish I could- Dad is a very anxious guy, but also a stubborn Irish American, whose not much into exotic food. Maybe he'll try the candy.  I would get some for my sister too, but she's nursing her baby, so I think it wise to wait until the little guy gives that up.  So I have the kava all to myself this year.

Last month I had to take a .22 rimfire and put down my aunt's cat that she got as a kitten in 1989. After she was done crying for about 3 hours I gave her a bowl or two of kava and that leveled her out more. She said it felt like a very mild Peyote high and went for a nap after that. She was ok the next day after a nights sleep.
