Ok, so I haven't tried kava for so long. I have used damiana before. I did something that may have been stupid the third time I tried kava. I mixed it with my usual dose of damiana. It was extreme. Something that feels that good can't be good for you. I went online and searched around about it and found this:

Anyway, the 4th time I tried kava I did not use damiana and did not get that euphoric and upbeat feeling but the relaxed and mellow.
Damiana is a moai, and you should not take maoi with kava. But the effect. Wow. I wish it wasn't bad for me cause I whould like to try it again. I won't though. I got into kava for the relaxed mellow feeling anyway.

hmm, I thought that mixing maois wasn't as bad as mixing maois with SSRIs.... How potent of a maoi are they, who knows? I've eaten a many times tyramine rich foods after drinking kava with no negative effect. But then again, I read a near fatal experience of someone drinking kava during (or after) an Ayahuasca session. I guess I would play it safe too.



I did have a bad experience with benadryl and kava....

Haha, ok. But it might be bad for you. Watch out.
Post your experience later on. It would be intressting to know if you too had the same effect.

Hmmm, so they sell teabags with kava and damiana? I guess they also noticed the combo. I can see why they sell it as an aphrodisiac. I fell head over feet into an unhealty relationship with my coffeetable after drinking it.

ok i tried now the damiana with kava. I just felt relaxed... but no euphory so far.

I'll try it with a few shells more....

Well? What happend? Did you take two teaspoons of the extract in your cup of kava? That worked for me at least. Strange if you don't get any different effect at all.

Two teaspoons is a lot over the recommend 15-30 drops. I bet that's around .5 to 1 tsp of alcohol depending on the brand extract I use. Not very much by itself, but might be enough to feel the effects with kava? I've been searching for a non-alcohol based extract.
