Does Pouni Ono=Sleepy Time?

I wanted to try some headier/more euphoric strains so I purchased some KWK Fiji Loa Waka and Pouni Ono. I only drank the Waka one night and that did seem to be more stimulating then my KBR Vanuatu3 and my KWK Borongoru. The last two nights I have been drinking the Pouni Ono and after eating dinner and watching tv with the family it has put me right to sleep at like 6:30/7:00ish. Not a long sleep, like an hour or so and I feel great after, but is this normal for this strain? I don't fall asleep easily before it is actually bed time so it really threw me for a loop to fall asleep like that. The high grass pollen counts have been messing with me lately so it might just be a double-whammy from the allergies and the Pouni Ono. Maybe heady strains area different breed. They seems to take longer to feel but seem stronger. Though I don't think my other strains would be considered that heavy either so I can't really compare it to a heavy strain. I assumed heavier strains would cause the sleepy effect. Learning how the different strains make you feel is part of the kava fun. And maybe I shouldn't be overlooking heavy strains either.

Just me then LOL. It couched me to sleep within an hour after two shells again last night, got a great night of sleep though. I think I need to keep a batch in the fridge to take one shell about an hour before bed time and stick with the Borongoru and Loa Waka for early evening kava.

I get the same reaction to Paradise Kava's extracts. I pass out on the couch for an hour or two and wake up feeling super refreshed. Kinda falls in line with what you're saying, seeing as the extracts are definitely kavain heavy.

The chemotypes thing is confusing me I guess. I thought 2 and 5 were the sedating ones and 4 was the euphoric one. But the Borongoru starts with 2 and that doesn't make me tired at all. The Loa Wak starts with 4 and is energetic to me but then Pouni starts with 4 too and puts me too bed. I would like to try some other strains but I can't really tell by the chemotypes anymore. I wanted to try some Mo'I or Kavaboy but the chemotype is pretty similar to the Pouni Ono and I am afraid it will make me sleep too. I guess all you can really do is sample and see how they react.

Mixed the Pouni Ono with some Borongoru and that was a nice blend. Didn't put me to bed(until I was ready for bed) and got a nice balanced kruzz on.
