Does water with/between shells dilute your experience?

For the same reason you don't eat right before kavanating, could you argue that you shouldn't drink too much water either? This question disregards the obvious need for hydration.

No. Protein, fat and fiber slow digestion. Carbs don't all that much and water barely does at all. It's quite advisable to hydrate well while drinking kava as it is a diuretic.

No, water will not dilute the experience, @Pacifico. It will keep the headaches and dehydration away. Yes, you'll pee more, but during a kava session you should be drinking water regularly and peeing regularly to keep your body hydrated. You'll enjoy it MORE if you're well hydrated.

I have gotten into the habit of putting some kind of fruit juice inbetween shells. Usually the strawberry melon brisk u see at the gas station for 99cents. Seems to rehydrate me, quench my thirst and the sugar keeps me from zoning out or falling asleep. If i am out of juice i mix a little brown sugar in the warm water before starting to knead
