Ears ringing

My ears have been ringing like crazy! They ring every day, multiple times a day. I remember reading that heady kavas can cause your ears to ring but I'm pretty sure it's only supposed to happen during a Kava session. It happens even when I don't drink any Kava for several days. Could Kava be the blame???

is it severe like when you walk out of a loud concert or is it just something that youve been noticing frequently without too much inconvenience like the random ringing everyone gets, but much more often? I am very interested to see where this thread will go.

I would say it's a little more severe than the usual ringing that every one gets but not as bad as after a very loud concert. It is much more frequent than the normal ringing.

How many days in a row have you been krunking? Several dayhs would be a lot for it still to affect you but that symptom might be something that builds up similar to how the lethargy can linger for maybe 2 days.

Well, I usually krunk through the weekends but last weekend I only krunked one night but went waaaay overboard. Overboard enough to have the spins and be fairly nauseated.

lol you want to see overboard I knew someone who took an extract once and literally could not walk for hours. they were fully conscious but the muscle relaxation was so powerful combined with vertigo that they couldnt do anything. Annnnd that's why you don't buy it at the healthfood store kids.

Have you had a high fever recently, or any kind of flu-like illness? That can cause some extended tinnitus that
isn't necessarily permanent.

The ear ringing caused by kava is different than "normal" ear ringing, in that you can "feel" it, and it
seems just a little outside your head.

When I drink a heady kava, I usually say, "Can you hear my ears ringing ... that means this is a Heady Kava". However what you describe might be a little worse. Maybe allergies plus Kava are giving you 'Da Chimes'. Or maybe you have an adverse reaction to a particular kava. Even as I type this, I'm noticing a slight ringing in my ears. Damnit, you made me notice this .... My wife tells me she suffers from this and does not do kava so you might even have your ears checked (like she did). I believe she takes medicine for this and has her ears checked at least once a year.

Kavas ringing for me is really a soundless ringing. Like I Know they're ringing but I litterally don't get the sound unless I'm Ina completley silent place but the actually sound never comes from kava like it does with alcohol for me..

A few instances that did make them actually ring
Mixing a gotu kola extract (not trusted source) with kava. This immediatley caused my ears to ring... I assumed the mix of GABA herbs was the cause. And is the most likley answer .
Yeah I think that's it.. other than just krunking super hard but like I said it's never like a real ringing just the sensation.
I would go to an ear specialist of some kind not a doctor specifically.

Nope, no recent illnesses.

I'll probably go to a doctor or an ear specialist sometime if the ringing continues. Other than that thanks for the replies. If it wasn't for this forum I'd know almost nothing about Kava.

Yeah while a few people report tinnitus related to kava consumption, I don't think it would persist for days afterwards. Now that it's spring, perhaps some kind of sinus issue?

Possibly spring related but I doubt it. Where I live, there is still snow on the ground. But I'm almost always congested for some reason so maybe that is the cause.
