Eating Kava root

Hi all. I've been using Kava off and on for a few years now but have rather limited experience. I have found that the easiest way to drink it is to just throw a few tablespoons of powdered root into a blender, add milk, oil, sugar, and some vanilla extract - and pound back. I have always gotten my desired results from doing this (sometimes well into the next day, which is not always welcome). My rationale is that I am putting more Kava in my body, and therefore increasing the amount of it in my system. However, I have found very little evidence online of others doing this. I know that the traditional method involves laboriously "squeezing out the kavalactones", but to me it appears all you are doing when straining is separating the finer elements from the bulkier pulp. Assuming the Kava is emulsifying with the the fats I have consumed, is my body not the most effective way to truly get all the kavalactones out? I'd love to hear other peoples thoughts. Its nice to have stumbled upon this community.

It's wood, right? So it could make poopin' pretty tough with a coarser grind.

With that said, I straight up drink my Fu'u (and I know at least one other guy here that does too) because doing the whole squeezing thing seems kind of silly when you realize that the grind is finer than my fijian kava strainer's holes. I don't have a blender, but if I did I would do like you're doing with it to try and agitate it.

I think I'll stick to the traditional approach with some of the coarser stuff.

I also drank fu'u by simply adding a few tbs toa cup of water and chugging it. I used to drink the orignal tudei fro KBR by adding a tbs to water and mixing it and then putting through a small strainer to trap the larger particles and drinking the rest, usually about 2/3 made it through just fine. I found this way to be effective but it always bombed out my stomach much more than making it ordinarilly.
