Hello guys
I've been drinking kava since end of april , and i still do not feel same sensations as i read in this forum . I only feel some kind of soft hapiness , a desire to laugh but only for 30 minutes, only when i take it before meals.
Though i tried a lot of way to prepare my kava , squeezing , blender, lecithin , etc , with 3 or more tablespoon for 8oz
I have vanuatu3 and fidji from KBR
I would like to know if i have to wait more days to feel it really ? should i drink it everyday? how much time did it take for you?
Something to know is that i'm very resistant to benzo , and medecine . I always have to take more than others , but i take some occasionnaly (i have big sleeping and stress problems)
Thank you for responding to me
Peace

When I first started using it I drank it every other day. Now I can go for 1-2 weeks without it. I've been using it for a little over a year now. Go through at least one of your bags of kava and then we'll see how it's going. Keep trying. Kava doesn't work for everyone but give it a chance. It may kick in better for you with time.

Possibly try a strain with a high amount of DHM as well. Van3 is high in kavain and low in DHM, I'm not sure about the fiji. BKH has a really good high DHM strain boroguro that is good and fairly priced. If tudei ever makes it back in stock at KBR I'd recommend checking that out, that has been one of my favorites. Also stone from N@H is a really powerful and igh DHM strain as well, I believes chiefs falls under this as well and has a great pine flavor to boot.

This is sound advice.  The higher DHM strains tend to hit you in a more physical, less subtle way, and will help give you some sense of kava's baseline effects, especially if you can carve out a little bit of quiet/alone time to sit there and focus on feeling it.

Also, in case you haven't been doing so already, always drink on an empty stomach - that's what really, and finally, changed my appreciation of kava.

Hmmm. Are you resistant to painkillers?

Everyone's biochemistry is different, but one thing I've notices is that autistics (like me) are especially resistant to painkillers, including minor sedatives. Technically, that makes me kava resistant, and I've developed a bit of reverse-reverse tolerance.

One magic bullet is pepper. I once became very, very krunk by having a little kava (for me - about three shells), and then eating a salad with no dressing but lots of ground pepper. I think it's the piperine, which is added to certain supplements to make their absorption easier. FRESH pepper has the most piperine. Some people can't taste the difference - I am a subtaster, but can still taste the difference. Elizabeth II is addicted to piperine, in fact. Makes her a very good cook, in my personal opinion.

Thank you for your replies

fidji is high in DHM but less effect for me than vanuatu , i'm waiting for isa tudei , and for nakamal they don't want to ship it to my country , i can't try Stone . i'm gonna retry with fidji with a higher dose

I don't often take painkillers, but for sedative i'm resistant ... i'm gonna try peperine , i took it already with curcuma , let's see

Thanks for the tips guys !

soltan, do you know about "John's Favorite?"

I use the name because I once ordered a five-cheese pizza from Papa Johns, and the woman charged me extra for adding sausage and adding peperoni, and then told me I could order "John's Favorite" as an off-menu speciality pizza - it is exactly the same thing I ordered, only I wouldn't have to pay more for toppings.

John Bowman communicated his favorite kava to me. It's a shell of Black Sands with a teaspoon of Shaman mixed into it. I start with the Shaman, add just enough hot water to make it into a thin paste, and then ladle in a half-cup of whatever kava I'm drinking. It's a bit more expensive (Shaman is not cheap), but it turbo-charges the kava over and above the effects of drinking two shells at once. I don't know what it is, maybe it's some sort of freaky Cargo-Cult sorcery, maybe it's because fresh kava (which Shaman is) is chemically different than dried kava (that's my theory and I'm sticking to it), but whatever... it works wonders.

Try it and report back to me.
