Extract or Powder

Although I'm sure the experiences will be varied I'd still like to know what form of kava is going to deliver stronger, longer results - powder or extract?  I just ordered some Paradise Kava extract & can't wait to get krunked.  Thanks in advance.(smiley: grin)

This is ^ ME. I opened another account since the DKB one wouldn't allow me, for whatever reason, to make any changes. I'm hoping my extract will be here before next weekend.

I find that I get allot more for my money with just plain root. I have also sort of realized that you get what you put into kava in terms of effort. When I soak a batch for a few hours and then knead and squeeze for almost another and thoroughly wear myself out, it totally kicks my ass. When I just get lazy and use a blender it works, just is not nearly as pronounced. If you are new to kava it will take some time and effort to get good solid effects. I find that buying bulk root around 1 kg is the best way to get the bang for my buck. Extracts and instants are a great way to get a mild buzz without really putting in any real effort but tend to be much more expensive than just making it yourself. Paradise has a great rep which is well deserved and you will be happy. Though I recommend getting a lb or 2 of root and going old school.

You should do what I do and do BOTH the soaking/kneading and the blender - Everyone says blender is lazy but nobody ever does both (smiley: laugh)

Now THAT kicks my ass

I actually do as well. I soak it in soy lectin and coconut water for a few hours and then blend for 5 minutes, pour into a Fijian strainer and work it for a while. I have always found that the longer I work, the more krunked it gets me. Sometimes I am just lazy and just blender and never get too awesome of effects.

I was surprised by the extract (I got Paradise Kava's regular and double-strength) because I expected it to be a stronger experience than the root powder.  What I've found is that it is not stronger but more profound (or something :)
With the double-strength in particular, I find that it makes me very tired - which is a shame, because I was hoping to use this for social situations in which it is inconvenient to drink root powder.  I don't usually want to do anything at all after eating some, whereas with various powders I've tried, I tend to have happy energy for a few hours after drinking.
On the plus side, it is effective even if you have a full stomach, and I haven't had any digestive issues with it, unlike the powder.
On the minus side, it is relatively quite expensive.
I am now saving my extract for at the end of the long, full days I work in the summer - this is when I could see such a profound relaxation being most helpful.  For going out, I am using the KavaKava candy - which do not make me tired and which are relaxing if not krunkifying.
I am waiting hopefully for something portable and discrete which will get me nicely krunk.

I ordered a Traveller from ParadiseKava on the first and it arrived today which from the other side of world is damn fast for simple USPS Priority postage. I'll drop a couple of dots tonite and post tomorrow w/ the experience. I'm looking forward to some much needed D-E-E-P sleep. May the krunk be w/ you!

I find the powdered root to be more economical. Wish I was rich, then I'd just order paradise co2 extract by the pound...

2013 version is 25% stronger and it will most likely be launched in 2 months if not sooner. Prices will only increase 15% or thereabouts.

I planned on waiting until this weekend to try out my Paradise Kava extract but after trying a couple of things to help me sleep I went ahead & tried a tiny pencil eraser head-sized tiny dot. First, & I don't mean this negatively, I don't how the shoe polish tasting gunk I had could be remotely associated w/ "vanilla & coconut". After a second or two to dropping the dot the entire right side of mouth went numb & my sense of taste disapearred, which was a welcomed change after the initial taste. Then a deep down non-euphoric positive wave of emotion swept over me. Now I'm sitting here barely able to stay awake deeply relaxed watching MONK on Netflix.

I had tried some Vitamin Shoppe kava but 2000mg of that didn't come close to the wonderful effect I'm currently experiencing. In my past I've drank a good bit of booze, smoked weed a couple of times, snorted a tiny, tiny amount of coke once & due to an injury used a fair amount of xanax but none of < that , absolutely NONE comes close to kava. I realize there are other marketers of real native kava but I can't see in the extended future buying nothing but a helluva lotta Paradise Kava.

You "da man" Adil!

You got that right bro!  I'm just now beginning to taste a small amount of coconut as opposed to my initial "show polish" impression.  Maybe Adil & Raquel could market a Double Fudge version.
