Hello, forumers. I'm working on some fun profiles for some of our farmers. What questions would you ask a kava farmer if you could interview them? Anything from daily life, to how they farm, to their favorite color. Let me know. Thanks!

As an anthropologist, I have interviewed hundreds - if not thousands - of farmers all over the world.

What do you like about your farm/garden? What makes it unique?
What kind of challenges do you face?
Who works on your farm? You? And your family? Friends? Workers - from your community, from outside your community?
What other crops do you manage? Do you have animals?
How do you protect your farm from pests? Diseases?
How do you manage water, if at all? What do you do during a drought?
How do you protect your crops from theft?
What would like to do to improve your farm?
What would you like to know about the people who buy your produce?
Does farming make you happy? Would you rather do something else?

(1) How would you like to see logistics improved for getting kava to market?
(2) Do you think a co-op would work for funding an on-island drying & processing plant, or has experience shown with other co-op attempts in the past that it would fall apart after a while?
(3) Do you prefer to sell on a batch-by batch basis, or would you prefer a fixed contract with a single buyer for all your kava?
(4) Whats your favourite colour?
