Hi all,

First post here, but I've been checking here for a while for good info on kava! Was planning to make my first foray into micronized kavas, and wanted to see if you all had any suggestions? In the past I've been a fan of Borogu and Fu'u for its heady effects. I found Boroguru from BKH to be too hard on my stomach, but I don't know if that is the case with micronized varieties. Any suggestions are welcome!

Thanks!

If you like heady kava the Moi GHK micro is a brilliant choice

Welcome to the Kava Forums Shamberlain! Today is Frisky Forum Friday so be careful. My current heady Makaless Micronized Favorite is the Hanapaki Ai. I did try the Moi instant and it was also excellent. I know we have beaten this horse to death (and I mean that with all due respect to horses) but some of the finer grinds let the bad fibers (Makas) of the Kava into the Grog. They can cause both Nausea and even aggravate dermopathy. The GHK Micornized is Makaless because the fibers are removed BEFORE the Kava is made into Micronized. It is also the reason why it is so potent. 50percent of the Kava is typically Makas according to Chris. So you have a purer more potent batch of Micronized.

Awesome, thanks so much for the info. I'm very much looking forward to the micronized sans Maka. The only negative I've found with kava for myself is that I tend to get some level of stomach discomfort and it kills my appetite. I'm excited to see how the Makaless micronized compares!

Makaless micro is the only way to go my friend the difference is night and day. By the way Deleted User01 I haven't tried the Hanapaki Ai, how would you compare it to the Moi if you don't mind my asking

I though this was a Heady Kava request. So that being said, I would recommend Opihikao or Nene for a night time beddy bye Kouch Potato Kava. When I do Nene, I just relax on the couch yet I don't feel any heavy mind boggling effects. However, I sleep real hard and I wake up in a very mellow mood. Wide awake but still mildly sedated. I take a nene nitecap on all my kava days. Opihikao is a bit stronger. It makes me lose concentration. Nightime only and no driving.

First welcome to the forums!

My vote goes for Moi for headiness. It's the bell ringer of kavas. I only had it in instant version, but man....headyheadyheady.

I use and like the Moi instant also. I tried some Moi micronized but found it a little too gritty for me. I might change my mind after I try a 25 micron filter on it first. I should try to figure out a way to compare the potency of the two, while I have some of both left.

looking forward to see if you'll like it as much as I do HeadHodge. After alternating between blending and liquefying, contrary to what I said in the thread on this I prefer the blending option most. Liquefying lets a touch the gritty through while blending doesn't. There is no loss of potency with blending unless you blend it on low speed.
