If you read some of the other threads around here, you will get your answer.

If you want to save the hassle, don't mix Benzos with kava, alcohol or any other depressant.

I have mixed the two and have literally never experienced any ill effects other than it masking the kava effects. I have been prescribed 2mg a night for several years though and have physical tolerance to it.

This is bad advice don't mix benzos with kava.

Just because you alone had no effects does not mean anything.

It was not personal medical advice my friend. I was simply giving my personal experience, which is what the OP was asking for. Please don't assume such implications. Additionally, as a pharmacologist I suggest anyone consult their doctor before mixing ANY meds with kava kava.

We just call it kava around here, no need to say it twice.
