Lagolos inebriens or turkish/intoxicating mint has comparable effects. It is alot more potent where 4-7 grams made into a tea is a good dose and anything over 10 can be heavily intoxcating.
The price is pretty steep at around 20$ and oz it can range from 3-7$ a session. I imagine the price would come down if bought in lbs or kilos but that would be expensive and just like kava theirs good and bad batches and suppliers.
The major downfall aside from the price is the insanely bitter and disgusting taste. Worse than anything I've ever experienced or imagined. Makes the brutal and concentrated K@ tea seem like champagne. The even more heinous aspect is that it absorbs best subligually and to get the best results you should take small sips and swish it around in your mouth and let it dissolve. It works well but taste is hellacious and lingers for hours, mabye even days.
I've also found that thujune the active alkoloid or wormwood or atemesi absinthim is pretty sedating and definatly warps you. It is an GABA B agonist as well as NDMA agonist making it both a seadtive and a dissaciative. It is the primary ingredient in absinth and the reason for it's ban, the newer legal absinths have to have a infintesimally small amount of thujune to be imported or sold, but you can make it dieselly traditional by adding a few ounces of wormwood extract.
A word of warning with that though. Thujune can cause delierium known as thujune poisoning and is what is suspected in the insanity of Van Gogh later in his life when he sliced of his ear and then later commited suicide. It is poisonous in high doses and very dangerous to use habitually, but fun in moderation.
