How about a kava chat room?

Krunkedout and I have been pming and we think that since kava is such a social drink it just seems to make sense that a forum dedicated to it would have one!  How do we do this?

That is a probable avenue but I believe that we might be able to get it integrated into the kava lounge since yuku is a multi social networking platform. Anyone know?

There are free IRC clients that can be put into Kavalounge but they'll be full of adds until you get a paid version of it.

If you know what you're doing you can compile one yourself and somehow put it into the forums. I've seen it done before but the guy that did it was an IT specialist so he already knew how to work with that sort of thing.

That is exactly what I was looking for!  But I found these forums :)  I guess kava just isn't as popular as it should be... but yeah I think it is a great idea.

Some forums that had an chat room function eventually took it out though. People didn't post topics as much as before it was added to the forum. Just throwing that out there.

Yeah because forums are kinda like a slow means of chat... but man so many times when I drink kava I just want to be around or talk to others drinking kava as well... so I come on here and make about 5 posts... but alas then I have to wait for replies!

I agree that although the chat could eventually supersede the forum and that wouldn't be good, it'd be a place for us to go off-topic. A sub-forum could also be the answer but I don't think our community is big enough justify that.

Just depends how we use it.

It's doable and It'd be nice.

+1 on adding a live chat feature to this forum.

I really don't see it supplanting the threads/topics sections though. When a member has a question or useful information to share with the community, the threads are the logical place to do this as the audience in the chat at any given moment would be relatively small.

A google search did turn up this resource, but I'm not sure how to use it without having everyone's email address:

I made a chatroom for a few moments, but I was unable to edit the color scheme or even the name of the chatroom. I'll try again in tomorrow when white won't hurt my eyes quite as much.

I think this would be good but I am not sure how it would work. I am not tech smart :) sometimes (like now) I would like to talk to another kava-head in real time. Some of my work takes me into another world for days. and when I come back here all is changed:)

theres always a free chat app like Line that is on phones and pc. I used to use it for playing mmo, its nice it pops up an alert on your phone when a new chat starts
