How deeply can Kava help in a psychotherapheutic manner?

A good friend has a hard time, doing Yoga, Hoff and Psychotherapy but still feel bad,
she does not know Kava yet, but is it a good idea to suggest trying it?
Or is not the job of Kavam ,our mutual botanical friend, to be psychotherapist?
