I have been using fu'u and now going to try koniak. With fu'u I was doing 8 table spoons to 2 cups water. Just wondering how you guys were mixing koniak so I can see if I need to do some adjusting or not. Thanks
It's hard to explain but, for me, yeh there is a noticeable next day hazy feeling after a solid Koniak session. I wouldn't drink it every day but it's too good to have only once a week. Moderation and all that...
I just tried Koniak after loving Bogoguru for months. Personally I don't find Koniak to be nearly as strong. I even tried a HALF cup dry of Koniak. I got a good buzz. But one time I tried a half cup of Bogoguru and was krunked out of my mind. All of my kava drinking is on an 8-hour empty stomach. Maybe I got a bum batch of Koniak from BKH. I doesn't have much oily feel to it and doesn't numb my mouth like other kavas.

I've discovered that it takes several sessions with a particular strain before you get it's intended effects. I tried Koniak and much like you I found it underwhelming, but after a few days of nightly drinking it became wildly apparent how it received its name.
