How long can you store prepared kava in refrigerator?

I'm no expert but I've been following Kava By Rex's instructions, which say up to 2 weeks:



"Your kava drink should be stored in the refrigerator and will keep for up to 2 weeks! Many actually prefer it cold right out of the fridge - always shake well before pouring and remember to stir before each sip "



I've tested this and didn't notice any difference in taste.

Guess it just depends on what you prefer. I personally like fresh squeezed kava better than stored.

The question is, how long can you store prepared kava in refrigerator?



Fresher kava tastes better, but how long is personally intolerable?

When I make kava I always drink it immediately... and if I have a shell or two left over I tend to drink it the next day.



I will however reuse kava. I'll leave it sitting in the fridge soaking in a small amount of water. Sometimes it can sit in there for quite a while as I keep making fresh stuff... maybe even a month of sitting in some cases. It definitely tastes different, smells different, but it still does the job and I haven't gotten sick on it. There's a rubbery chemical smell to it.

i mix several batches and keep them in the fridge for at least a week. tastes fine to me, i mean the taste is pretty nasty anyways so i dont think i would complain if it was a touch worse. i also keep a stash frozen too, im going to try a new frozen method, i'll post pics if it works.

Mos3z the freezing a batch thing works wonderfully for fresh but not so great for powdered kavas that have been prepared. For lack of better terms the thawed kava seemed... Chunky. Like it wouldn't all homogenize again. A blender would have fixed this now that I think about it. So yeah it works great

I've never gone beyond 2 days. I usually make 1/2-1 gallon and will session a quart and the rest will be gone in 2 days. If your looking to save it for a prolonged time try freezing shell sized doses as they last indefinitely and can be thawed out and drank easily. There is at least one member here who does that.

I like to slam it ice cold! So I put it in the fridge but it never stays there more than a few days. Never noticed a difference in taste.
