What's new

I think i drank too much Kava!

Hi, everyone, for a almost 6 days in a row, that was like 2 weeks ago, i was drinking average 70g kava per day, and i stopped since my stomach started to hurt and now my whole body is dry, from head to to toe , its almost scaly, mostly dry.
Whenever i move ,lift something or turn my head,my skin feels like its cracking and its getting really annoying.

Is there anything i can do ? Obviously i wont be drinking kava anymore for a while,it really sucks though considering how chill kava is.The cheaper the better, dont have much funds!

Just for your information,i always prepared my kava with soy lecithin.(2 tbps) per brew (5cups water). And ive been drinking for only like 6 months, but like 2-3 times a weeks max, except that week where i did 6 times.

I drink around 55-60 grams strained kava per day myself, and yes...I'm right there with you. I find that if I miss a beat and forget to drink enough water I end up wondering why I feel like going swimming in a pool of flour would be great to add some moisture to my skin. One thing that will help is VitaFusion vitamins. Another is drinking lots of water...also add an electrolyte in there every now and then. Then there's the lotions:

That lotion helps as an over-all.

The above lotion works well on kava'd hands.

After that it's only time that will reverse it.

Thanks for the advice, by the way i too strain properly my kava(double strained:bigger mess filter and very fine mess) and drink water while doing it, mostly to chase it down, i guess it wasnt enough,

only problem like i said,is its my whole body, and if i put lotion on my whole body ill destroy my clothes. i guess ill try some vitamins and drinking more water,

What kind of electrolytes do you talk of by the way ?

As an electrolyte just add a dash of salt or baking soda to some water and drink it. Or drink a sports drink.

i think ill try some multivitamins i have home + maybe if i can some coconut or just the salt or baking soda.

Now my skin is falling off and my back is becoming scaly what a bummer, guess i should stop using the soy lecithin ?

The soy lecithin isn't your culprit here. This definitely sounds like common, kava caused dermapothy to me.

I am getting the same thing right now. This is my FIRST time getting kava dermapothy after like 2 years of drinking kava all the time. This means the kava gods have accepted me into their family. To celebrate, tonight I will be drinking more kava, and more after that, while I wait for my new shipment of more kava.

It gets bad dude. Like really bad, like painful and bloody. lol.

My advice to anyone who thinks they're experiencing early stages of dermopathy is to simply take a breather for a few weeks with a multivitamin and good diet. Let your body recover for a bit.

Admitting you have a problem is the first step bro. Sorry...but I've been waiting to use that one. In the book I referenced below the author tells of Vanauatu natives w/ really patchy skin &

Nothing to worry about other than the discomfort. Take a little time off and you should be good as new in no time.
