Is a free sample of Extract worth the $4.95 shipping price?

Aloha!
We are at a crossroads with a new idea and are looking to the kava forum for advice.
A few grams of out extract (say, 2-3) is ample amount to try out and see one's reaction.
We are thinking of offering it Free with a "Just pay for shipping" which is $4.95 (and this amount will be refunded, if you do not like our product)
It's a risk, and all we are looking for is to break even on a high cost product such as our solvent free extracts.

If you were new to kava, would this be appealing to you?
Wish we could start a poll for this. Can we?

Something as small as this takes a lot of resource and planning so it's best to see what the forum thinks first.
Mahalo for your input! (smiley: happy)

I'd try it if I lived in the US. Beats shelling out $24 and not liking what you get. The money back option makes it a great deal. I live in Canada so I dont think $12 is worth it, but $5 is. (Luckilly I have 15 jars left so wont be needing any for a while, lol).

For sure!  $5 bucks seems reasonable..maybe do a sampler platter for $9.99?  so that people can try the different flavors

wow, a resounding YES! Thanks for the input.
well, time for us to get this moving along.
Steve, You mean $9.99 for three flavors and free shipping anywhere in the world? I think we may have to figure out how much money we lost in that deal and if we can write that off. It may just be worth it.
Thanks again guys, we appreciate the feedback.

Also, doesn't this idea leave our smallest size, the 10g Sampler in a perilous position of being forgotten?

You think we should discontinue this size and stick with the 30g and 60g only?

Thoughts anyone?

paradisekava - hey Adil, it would be awesome if you could vacuum pack literally 3 pea size samples onto a small sheet of each flavor.  For production purposes, you could lay them out like M&Ms in a row (similar to a cookie sheet and then cut out three at a time)  Maybe time consuming, but you could do one large sheet and cut out 100 (3 flavor) samples at a time.  From a business prospective I totally understand where you are coming from.  You don't want to loose money and potentially go out of business in the long run...people love your kava and you have a wonderful product(s)...we all would like to see you prosper and understand that you have to watch the bottom line in order to keep things moving.  I think that if people can try the extract at a lower price point, they could pick their favorite flavor and would be happy to invest in a larger size if they know the quality and value beforehand - via through the little sample.  Just my 2 cents...call me if you want to discuss more :)

this really sounds great - i'm anyway looking for a kava form that's chewable or sublingualy or something like that usable since i get the impression more and more that drinking the stuff seems to kill my digestion and so on :(

So i guess my next order will be some of paradisekava's extract anyway, but being able to check before if it's more like what i'm looking for would be awesome, of course!

Steve, that M&M; idea is such an "out of the box" suggestion. Well done!

Glad to know people think it's worth it.

I agree with the Europeans. Shipping has got to be the same as US shipping for these samples.

The best thing about the 10g jars is that they're about the size and shape of popular brands of lip balm. They look totally innocuous sitting out on a desk.

paradisekava - Maybe we could bundle a few things together....I have the kava candy and you have the extract.  Since my stuff is cheaper (less weight) we could package the candy + little extract sampler.  On the margin, it does not cost me much more to ship it out with existing candy but it does cost you quite a bit to ship it alone.  Just a thought to leverage our business and get customers products that they might buy together.  Flavored candy and flavored extract could be pretty cool.. Dip the candy in the extract and now you got a "Fun Dip" :)

Adil,

Yea, dropping the 10gr probably wouldn't be a bad idea. I know I wouldn't waste my time w/ it. I'm getting an econ 60gr after my Traveller is gone, thats for sure. The same goes for the $5 deal. Just stick to the basics bro. Not that experimenting w/ different forms of kava is pointless, after all thats how wonderful extract was born wasn't it?
