Hi all, I have been secretly admiring many from behind the screen of my iPad for a very long time. You know what is f-in awesome? That I can come here and converse with people who know about kava. In my real physical world, NOBODY close to me knows anything about kava, NEVERMIND cultivars, ways of preparing, different effects and so on. They think I'm crazy! And so I am thankful number one for my dad on this fathers day. Be lost without him. But I am grateful today to have others with a common interest that is not drugs, alcohol, but a different way of life, away from the hardcore lunatic traps many of us have fallen into. This really is a beneficial root. And I'm so happy to be part of a this positive, supportive and uplifting community. As u see I am still drinking my hanakapi and am so feeling the love. So here I am, patiently allowing others to be themselves, but secretly hoping that soon nakamals open near me herein Boston, and that people stop literally killing themselves and others with legal alcohol and then justifying it too, for lack of a better option......if only they knew. Maybe they will someday. Imagine all I have learned, I have learned with the click of a button. Then I had the courage to try all alone, and it felt right. Thank u all. Whether or not u know it, u have been instrumental in my life. And plus u guys are hilarious! Seriously though, I always felt mainstream was just wrong. Like the cattle just following the herd, and it is. When u begin to veer away from it, sometimes it is a lonely road , but enlightening and meaningful. I have not been this happy, spiritual and stable in a very long time and kava is not the whole reason, but it certainly hasn't hindered. And with my addiction history, let's just say I have never sold any of my valuables in search of a bag of kava. It's just not like that. (thankfully) just introducing myself, though I feel that u are old friends. Feel it's only fair and I feel I am experienced enough to perhaps help another or just share. Thanks for having me.

Another Massachusetts member? Welcome! I wish a nakamal would open in Massachusetts as well, it would help to get people out of the trap of addiction that has befallen our great state. Welcome here, bula! I'm happy that kava has helped with you and your journey, and good on you for overcoming your addictions.

Welcom to the forum @Lamakan! ::awesomesmiles:: I think we are kinda proud that we talk seriously about Kava but find humor in almost everything. Lots of people have "serious" problems and I think we use the Kava Forums to loosen up and maybe leave the "seriousness" at the front door. That being said, you already know that you can talk about almost any problem and there are members here who have "been there and done that" and are more than happy to guide you in anyway they can. And I can sum up the uniqueness of this forum with the Lyrics of Home on the Range, "Where never is heard .... a disparaging word ... and the Kava flows all day long". Or something like that.
