Kava and flexeril

Kava Curious
I recently threw my back out and went to the doc and he gave me a anti inflammatory and muscel relaxant combo...just wondering if anyone has had experience with this and kava? I've been hard at the kava for 2 months now, and probably have a build up of kavalactones and don't want to mess myself up by taking this other stuff...

The only thing that worries me would be the muscle relaxers. My advice would be to go to the chiropractor. They get to the root of the problem whereas doctors just prescribe stuff and hope it fixes itself.

Agreed. The general consensus and medical sites everywhere say not to mix kava and muscle relaxers.

When I overindulge I sometimes have problems breathing. Well, not really problems, so much as I forget to breath and notice I haven't inhaled automatically. It's not a huge problem, but I'd be afraid to mix kava with some synthetic substance that might do the same thing.

I use kava to replace flexeril. I've been taking flexeril for almost 7 years now, but have only had to take it once in the last year since I started drinking kava daily.
If u find a strain that working for you kava can actually be much stronger than flexeril in my opinion.
Personally boroguru from BKH works the best on me.
As long as I don't take them in the same day though I can still take flexeril if needed.
I have had slight breathing issues mixing flexeril and kava or Vicodin and kava. Really slows your breathing and felt like it was a chore to breathe.

I do this a bit too, just stop breathing until I think "oh hey, probably a good idea to take a breath every now and then."
