I was wondering if the active portion of the kava is absorbed through the thin skin under the tongue when it is placed there, or if it is mostly absorbed in the stomach. In short, I was wondering if kava candy is less effective if you had just eaten a meal, or if fullness is non-factorial as it is absorbed sublingually.

To the best of my knowledge (and experience), sublingual absorption is independent of what you have in your stomach, as long as you leave the candy under your tongue until it's dissolved.

Yeah it works with food in the stomach.. but even if you just suck on them your swallowing some and what not so it will prob be more potent either way without food but no loss of the potency that absorbed through your mouth
