Is there a kava strain that will make me better at math? Maybe a kava that helps you focus? Or eases the nerves but allows your brain to operate at peak performance?
It really kind of depends, I guess. If anxiety about math makes math difficult, then it might be helpful in small amounts. And even then, I would say that the heady varieties like Mo'i, Nambawan, Pouni Ono, KavaBoy would be your best bets. I've read that kava affects processing speed, but not working memory. In one study it showed improved reaction times, which I found odd. If removal of a layer of math anxiety and the ability to calmly sit down with the subject matter and work through it makes you better at math, then maybe it can. I don't think it'd actually improve your math skills through its own devices, though. The only thing that helps me with math (and programming) is caffeine, and that works against kava IMHO.
