Kava for pain relief?

My boyfriend ruptured his quad a couple years ago and deals with frequent pain. I would like to get him some Kava to see if it helps but I have no idea which kind or if there is even a big difference between types. For that matter, would it even be that effective for pain? People keep saying different things.

+ anxiety relief

Do not wants
- increased appetite
- decreased sex drive :(
- weakened erections :( :(

Pain Relief - some, especially depending on the variety. Heavier Kavas offer more relief. This is not opiate level analgesia.

Anxiety relief - Yes, kava is pretty good at this...but be aware it tail off into anxiolytic sedation. Headier varieties are less sedating, but offer much less muscle relaxation and pain relief.

Appetite increase - No, quite often, the opposite. On top of that, you need to put a few hours distance between a meal and when you drink kava, otherwise it won't work much.

But most of all, it sounds like he might want Cialis. :angelic

Ok, so what I'm taking away from this, since pain is the main concern, is that he should try out some heavier kava samples to see what works for him. When it comes to the heavier Kava, is it noticeable when a person is using them? His job involves being in the spotlight so he can't coast under the radar. Would he need to wait for night time to use it and if so would that help him with the pain the next day? Sorry, completely oblivious when it comes to these things.

Also, would the instant stuff work for him? I'm thinking of the convenience factor.

haha I have to make sure that it won't cause problems in the bedroom because he already has a lower sex drive than me. We're good right now but if it decreased I'd lose my mind. >_<

I think you're ok on the bedroom stuff. A lot of people find it actually increases drive myself included. Likely because of the stress melting qualities

Kava does not increase the appeitite. If you get one that reduces the pain, it may increase that "other" appetite because you are not feeling any pain. But heck, try kava and find out for yourself. Kava can do different things to different people. If you loose libido and get the munchies, then ditch it and try something else.

Pain relief is one of my main reasons for drinking kava. Different strains effect everyone differently, so I would suggest getting a sample pack or a few different strains. Papa Kea from GHK is great for pain relief, especially muscle related. Balanced kavas are usually the best for me in terms of pain and anxiety relief without making me too tired. You really need to try at least a heavy kava and a heady one to see which one you like the best. Kava involves some trial and error to find what works for you.

I find kava excellent for pain relief. I use solomon's kava for this purpose, it's very powerful and intoxicating.

Well I read elsehwere on this forum that the paciific ilsanders lose interest in girls after they drink kava.

hi there,the most powerfull pain relieving kava is Solomon its been reviewed and said that it could be sold as a sport injure medicine.but be carefull with it its extremely strong so don't hit it heavy.i used it a year ago and it blew me away,its got everything you require.

Thank you everyone for the advice. You've been very helpful. I think I will definitely get the Solomon's and then some kind of sample pack so he can decide what works for him.
