Kava Kubes!

I got this idea from the 'sublingual method' thread posted a couple of days ago...and also from a video I found on youtube about making herbal pills...

Basically I mixed some instant I got from RealKava.com with vegetable glycerin and formed the mixture into cubes. Then I put them over the radiator to dry for 30 mins or so. The result looks like this....

I put about a half teaspoon of instant into each cube. I'm just finishing my 2nd cube now and I feel mighty fine. The effect is very noticeably better than I get just from mixing this stuff with water.

I just let them dissolve sublingually, that way certainly seems to pack more of a punch than mixing it with water and drinking (as per the instructions on the pack) It would probably be better to make them a flatter shape so they sit under your tongue more easily, but I managed the cubes fine all the same.

i would drink a lot of water with this method, since u are cutting out the water and it already is dehydrating

Taking any thing sublingualy increases the effects. If you hold the kava in your mouth for a prolonged time it will do the same. It's also believed that the reason some of the natives preferred masticating the kava is because it makes it stronger. Which could be true bc the enzymes in our saliva start to break it down.

@Steve: Thanks :) They don't taste anything like as good as your lovely kava candies, but they're a good way to get a bit extra out of instant powder I think.

@moz3s: Good point. I did wake up feeling a bit dehydrated this morning. That might probably explain it then.
