Kava on amazon UK

I think it's got a bunch of other junk in it. They have it in the US too.

I think all those teas kind of suck. They don't have enough kava or it's a crappy kind.

If I remember right they say to boil it which tells me they don't know much about kava.

Yea, I've tried the teabags too and thought they were a waste of time. Just found it interesting that Amazon would be selling kava on their website, I was sure it was banned from sale in the UK?

I've tried the Yogi too ... and I noticed a slight calming and relaxing effect (compared to "normal" kava).
But I put 2 bags at once into the cup and dipped them in not so hot water (~70°C) for about 10 minutes.

I'm from the UK and ordered root online sent from hawaii.. It's the postage which is expensive. I'm finding it hard to find wholesale root with postage that isn't too expensive.

Yea, unfortunately so. I tried to order 55g of instant from nakamal@home and the airmail shipping asking price was $53 (smiley: sick) That's an extreme example of course, and most vendors are cheaper, but it's still a significant proportion of the overall cost. When the value of a package reaches $50 the customs guys here start to take interest, and they add the cost of shipping to the overall value, so ordering in bulk to save money isn't an option either.

Yes- as a vendor shipping can get a little expensive to the UK.  I provide free shipping in the U.S. but international I charge $4.95 flat rate - the cost is actually $10-$13 for up to two cases of kava candy.  I don't like charging extra for shipping cause as a customer I hate it when shipping costs more than the product.  I do understand the cost though and peoples ability to stay in business.  For lighter stuff, I hope USPS can keep offering their prices...if I were to go with UPS, I don't think I could afford to ship lighter stuff to the UK.

Steve, your $4.95 shipping charge to EU is awesome value. Love your candies btw, I keep a steady stream coming my way :)

Midas - much appreciated and glad you are enjoying the candy

Ash Blue - thanks for the headsup.  Sounds like you are able to get some root there which is great.  Have not had problems with customs so far, but if anyone does please let me know.  Cheers, Steve
